Bathurst 1000, Mount Panorama

Bathurst 1000, Mount Panorama

Australia's greatest motor race — 1,000 km around the mountain at Bathurst, four days of Supercars action every October.

Family

The Repco Bathurst 1000 is the crown jewel of Australian motorsport: 161 laps and 1,000 kilometres around the fearsome Mount Panorama Circuit, where the Supercars grid tackles the Mountain Straight, the Esses and the plunging Conrod at full noise. The 2026 race weekend runs 8–11 October 2026.

The weekend

Four days build from practice and the Top 10 Shootout to Sunday’s great race, with the campground on the mountain itself turning race weekend into a pilgrimage. Even outside the event, Mount Panorama is a public road you can drive at the speed limit — but in October it belongs to the Supercars.

Planning it

Bathurst is 3 hours west of Sydney across the Blue Mountains. Tickets (grandstand, general admission and camping) sell through Supercars and book out for the big grandstands. Combine it with a Central West road trip and the lookouts around Lithgow on the way.
