About our content
Our guides, listings and articles are researched and compiled from local knowledge, official visitor information and well-regarded public sources (including Google Maps data such as ratings, review counts and venue photos), and are checked before publishing. However:
- Details change. Opening hours, prices, menus, access conditions, events and ratings change over time. Figures such as Google ratings and review counts were correct at the time of writing of each article (each guide states its date) and are not live. Always confirm current details with the venue, park authority or operator before travelling.
- General information only. Nothing on this site is professional, safety or financial advice. Conditions at natural locations (beaches, lookouts, walking tracks) can be dangerous — heed official warnings and signage.
- Independence. Rankings and inclusions are editorial decisions. We do not currently accept payment for placement in our guides; sponsored content, if ever published, will be clearly labelled.
Intellectual property
The text, design and original photography on this site are © AustralianSecret and may not be reproduced without permission, except for brief quotations with attribution and linking. Some images are used under Creative Commons and similar licences from sources such as Wikimedia Commons, and remain the property of their creators. Venue thumbnail photographs in our guides are served from the venues’ own Google Maps listings and remain the property of their respective owners; “View Location” and “Website” buttons link to the venue’s own presence.

We link to external websites (venues, booking services, official visitor resources). These are provided for convenience; we do not control them, do not endorse everything on them, and are not responsible for their content, availability or your dealings with them.
Contributor submissions
If you publish content through our contributor programme you confirm that: it is your own original work; you have the rights to any photos you upload; it is accurate to the best of your knowledge; and it contains nothing unlawful, defamatory or infringing. You retain copyright in your work and grant AustralianSecret a non-exclusive, perpetual licence to publish, edit, format and promote it on this site and our channels, with attribution to your contributor profile. All submissions are reviewed before publication and we may edit for style, decline, or remove content at our discretion. You may request removal of your published contributions via the contact page.
Comments & acceptable use
You must not use the site to post spam, abuse, misleading material or content that infringes others’ rights; attempt to gain unauthorised access; or scrape the site at scale without permission. We may moderate or remove comments and suspend accounts that breach these terms.
Listings & enquiries
Business listing requests and advertising enquiries are subject to our review and acceptance. Submitting an enquiry does not guarantee publication.
