Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi

Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi

The world's largest free outdoor sculpture exhibition — 100 artworks lining the Bondi to Tamarama clifftop walk each spring.

FreeFamily

For a fortnight every spring, the Bondi to Tamarama coastal walk becomes the world’s largest free public sculpture exhibition. More than 100 works by Australian and international artists are set against the sandstone cliffs and crashing surf — some monumental, some tucked into rock crevices. The 2026 edition runs 16 October to 2 November 2026.

Walking the exhibition

The two-kilometre clifftop trail links Bondi and Tamarama beaches, and it’s entirely free to wander at your own pace. Sunrise and the hour before sunset give the best light (and thinnest crowds) for photography; weekends and the middle of the day are packed, so go early or late.

Making a day of it

Pair it with a Bondi swim, the Icebergs pool, and the wider Bondi-to-Coogee walk beyond Tamarama. It’s a short bus or train-plus-bus from the city — leave the car behind, parking near Bondi during the event is brutal. More photography spots along the coast.
