The stay
The cottages are comfortable rather than flashy, and the setting does the heavy lifting: vine rows to the door, a cellar door and restaurant up the drive, and the lake’s walking track two minutes away. In winter, this is genuine truffle-and-fireplace country.
Around Mount Canobolas
Lake Canobolas is next door, the mountain’s summit lookout ten minutes up the road, and Orange’s restaurants ten minutes down — with the Orange food trail connecting the district’s orchards and cellar doors.
