Bubbletent Australia is the stay that launched a thousand bucket lists: transparent bubbles pitched on private farmland above the enormous Capertee Valley, each with a bed pointed straight at the Milky Way. Some 226 Google reviews later it still rates 4.6 stars.

The setting
Each bubble sits alone on its own stretch of escarpment — no neighbours, no light pollution, just a telescope, a fire and several billion stars. It is deliberately simple, and the valley view at sunrise is the other half of the show.
Around the Capertee Valley
The Glow Worm Tunnel and the Wolgan Valley are within about 45 minutes, and Mudgee’s cellar doors are an hour north-west — the drive itself, on the Castlereagh Highway, is big-sky country all the way.
