The address alone sells it: Seal Rocks Road, Bungwahl — the quiet farm country between the tea-coloured Myall Lakes and the little lighthouse hamlet of Seal Rocks, on the stretch of coast Sydney forgot to develop. The Mainstay runs its farm stay here with a 4.9 Google rating.

The setting
Bungwahl sits on The Lakes Way with Myall Lakes National Park at its back — Australia’s biggest coastal lake system, all paperbarks and glassy paddling water. Twenty minutes east the road ends at Seal Rocks, where the Sugarloaf Point lighthouse walk and Number One Beach do the postcard work.
Around the farm
Paddle or boat the lakes, surf or swim Seal Rocks and Treachery, walk the lighthouse track at golden hour, and detour to Bluey’s and Boomerang beaches near Pacific Palms. This is the classic old-fashioned NSW coastal holiday, minus the crowds of anywhere further south.
