The white beaches
Hyams Beach carries the famous whitest-sand folklore and the crowds that come with it — but the same quartz sand rings the entire bay. Walk the White Sands Track from Greenfield Beach and you’ll pass a string of equally blinding, far quieter coves. In Booderee National Park — owned and jointly managed by the Wreck Bay Aboriginal Community — Murrays Beach and Green Patch are arguably the bay’s best swims (vehicle entry fee applies).
Out on the water
Huskisson is the working hub: whale-watch and dolphin cruises leave from the wharf, dive boats run to the bay’s famous clear-water sites, and kayaks and SUPs launch from Shark Net Beach. Humpbacks rest inside the bay on their winter migration — May to November cruises are close to a sure thing.
Know before you go
Summer weekends are heavily booked and Hyams parking fills early; spring and autumn deliver the same colour with half the people. Huskisson has the cafes and pubs; Vincentia the supermarkets. Details correct at the time of writing (July 2026).
